影片疏失:
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Dale kills his father, Dale's mouth doesn't match the words we hear.
- Boom mike visible: When the Tilson family is moving in the house, as the camera follows them inside the house you can see the shadow of the mic following as well.
- Continuity: Dale's head changes position after he falls through the house: landing looking left, but looking straight up in the next shot.
- Continuity: Near the end of the movie Cooper hits Dale in the head with a shingle from the roof. Dale's head is bleeding badly, but in the next shot his wound is gone.
- Continuity: The Jeep Grand Cherokee that is burning is an older model than the one the Tilsons drive at the beginning of the movie.
- Continuity: When Dale Massie first sits down with the family and has a smoke, he puts the same cigarette out twice.
- Factual errors: We see a chopper's-eye view of a sunlit New York City morning. In the next shot, we see that the time, according to Leah's clock radio, is 4.30am. The earliest that the sun rises in New York is around 5.25am in mid summer.
- Revealing mistakes: Leah reaches over to turn off her alarm clock, set for 4:30 in the opening scene. However, if you look closely when she hit the button several times, you can see the time flashes to 12:00, showing that the alarm was never really set.
- Revealing mistakes: When the Tilson's first explore the grounds, they pass an ancient, rusted-out truck. The chrome on the headlights and the grill of the truck, however, are shiny and glistening. Throughout the opening of the house, we see that the amount of dust and wear are not consistent with other shots.
